Head of Rottweiler is most important indicator of the breed type. Its proportions are the same imperative as these of the trunk. The head adds Rottweiler disposition and singularity. It is noteworthy, that skull of the dog must resemble trapeze slightly turning into a squire. Length of the snout is a little bit more that its depth. Snout’s length is the most argumentative one. In accordance with ADRK requirements ratio of snout length (from inner angle of the eye) to skull length (from inner angle of eye to occipital angle) must be 40 % : 60%, i.e. 2:3, at that optimal length of male’s snout is somewhat more than 10 cm and that of female’s is a little more than 9 cm. (breed standard allows that shown ratio may even be 1:1). Significant importance of head’s parameters is also connected with the fact that just the dog’s head together with gait, height, body mass makes males look more courageous and females more feminine. Sexual identity of the dogs must be express, but unfortunately this can be seen seldom. Defaults: too short or too long snout, light and narrow shape of skull resembling beagle’s head, or very heavy shape of skull with ill-defined bridge between forehead part and snout.
