Articles about great Rottweilers. Posted by Rottweiler-Dog-Breed-Store
The credence given to Rottweilers was quite warranted. These dogs were considered very strong, aggressive and almost did not respond to pain. After the accident with battlesome sailors one could hear endless talk about the breed; moreover almost everyone admired Rottweiler. This occurrence produced an interest of cynologists and they decided to attempt to return the former glory of Rottweiler. In 1901 breed standard of Rottweiler was officially recognized. This event was celebrated in international club of Rottweilers and Leonbergers which formation took place a little earlier-in 1899. Rottweilers with black hair marked by yellowish spots were preferred most. But some exceptions were allowed still. Basing on the information provided by documents of the time we know that it was possible for former Rottweiler to have certain color of hair (the quotation can be read in the main article). Beyond this point international breed standard accepted the presence of small white marks in the chest and paws. In 1907 first Rottweiler club was founded in Germany. Work of German dog clubs was tightly bound with employment of International Rottweiler club popularity of which was enormous in 1920-1930s among professional dog breeders and cynologists. But past Rottweilers looked differently than todays individuals of the breed.
